Some gardeners don’t like buying plants in garden centers. Years of being on a budget got me over that. Plus, you can find some great plants at Freddie’s garden centers. I chat with a couple of the buyers who explained that they have to go with what ‘corporate’ wants but they have a little latitude in what they order. I’ve found wonderful grasses, hydrangeas, that little workhorse Geranium ‘Rozanne,’ and a variety of ferns. What I save at the garden center I splurge for those more hard-to-find plants at one of the other nurseries.
